Is it a curse of getting older that times does nothing but fly by? This year has been going by so fast and I honestly can’t tell if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. In just a few hours we kiss July goodbye and welcome the beginning of fall.
Now, I’m not sure who is in charge of things, like seasons but I decided to do a quick search and apparently fall (autumn) doesn’t begin until September 22nd. I’m calling bullshit since here in Florida it’s been determined that fall is beginning on August 17th with the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
Obviously Disney is the ruler and we shall all bow to the mouse.
It is very safe to say that the overall theme of my blog over the next couple months is going very dark as we move into full-on Halloween season.
For now though, we look back on July.
There’s really not a whole lot to say. I’ve been working a lot minus the few days that we were on the cruise- which I will be writing about soon. I’ve actually got a ton to say about so many things so expect a massive explosion of posts over the next few weeks.
I honestly, really can’t think of anything to say about July.
I got myself back to the gym a few times this month. We were having a challenge at one of my jobs to help raise money for a charity. We have been using an app called Charity Miles to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital over the last month.
As I’m a highly competitive person, I had to get moving and running seemed the most logical thing to do on top of working all of my regular shifts.
I am happy to say that as of sitting down to write this I am ranked #4 in the entire company (this is a national chain) with 458 miles which puts me at an average of just under 15 miles a day. Not too bad if I say so myself.
All said and done this means that I raised about $114 dollars for St. Jude this past month.
I’m actually considering signing up for the Dopey Challenge and raising money for St. Jude. This would be the first time I’ve run for a cause since I started running almost four years ago.
I’m not 100% sure quite yet because I’m a tad stressed about the fundraising part. I’ll certainly keep ya’ll posted. I do know that I’m going to keep using Charity Miles even though the month-long challenge has ended.
That said, July is over and it’s time to look forward to what’s to come!
I’ll see you all tomorrow with a hello to August!
