I have been a horrible blogger lately but there has been so much going on!
The biggest thing, right now, is that this time next week I’m going to be up north and FINALLY reunited with Erica after over four long months!
This has actually been the longest stretch without seeing each other since she moved back north and it’s been super hard.
I know she has a fun weekend planned and I’m looking forward to a chance to get out of Orlando and recharge for a little bit.
To ensure that the weekend isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, the two of us will be running the Mad Marathon up in Vermont on the 9th.
Neither of us have the highest aspirations for the race. I haven’t properly run since Dark Side in April and I’ve been dealing with Plantar Facetious in my right foot.
We actually had planned on running this marathon last year when the two of us were feeling fairly ambitious about life. We ended up deferring entry because I hadn’t been able to properly train because of the surgery on my leg.
We figured in one year we’d get our acts together and be ready for a fun summer marathon.
Turns out we are so very wrong.
I’m actually looking forward to a fun few hours of the two of us being complete hot messes out on the course.
Plus the Ben & Jerry’s factory is like two towns over and I can totally justify eating my weight in ice cream after half-assing a marathon.
On a happier note, I’ve been plugging away at working out regularly and have been getting back into better habits.
I’m still fighting off that lingering darkness. Every time I think I’m all good, it’s there to slap me in the face. I’m really hoping getting away for a while helps.
I may not be ready for this marathon but I’ll be damned if I’m not going to be ready for Chicago in October. Erica and I will both be running that as well and I have a feeling this coming race is going to be the kick in the ass needed to get better prepared.
And it’s about time to really get into gear for Dopey!
I don’t have too much on my schedule race wise but I will be at RunDisney stuff throughout the fall. I’m really looking forward to Disneyland Half!
I’m also going to be making my triumphant return to the Wine & Dine half marathon weekend. Erica will be coming down for that weekend as well.
Granted this is all pending on my survival this coming race weekend.
I need a nap.
