I owe ya’ll an update on the last week and I promise that’s coming but for now I want to take a look at the latest Halloween Horror Nights announcement!

As just about everyone knows, I am a Halloween Horror Nights addict.

It’s a problem.

So I was a tad excited to hear that today was the day for a “maze announcement” from Universal Studios!

At noon the ball dropped that the next house at HHN27 will be: THE SHINING!

Ok. So.

The Shining really isn’t my thing.

I’m sorry.

Now, The Shining is a classic in the horror genre. The film, released in 1980 grossed over $44 Million and is a pop culture phenomenon to this day.

The maze, inspired by the iconic film based on the Stephen King novel, is set to bring “unspeakable terror” to both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort.

The team behind the project, led by Universal Studios’ Creative Director John Murdy, say the maze will give guests a unique opportunity to relive some of the film’s most iconic, and sinister, moments as they venture through the eerie Overlook Hotel. Guests will be thrust into the hotel’s tragic history of murder and madness, bearing witness to caretaker Jack Torrance’s spiraling descent into insanity. Jack Nicholson portrayed Torrance in the original film.

The film does lend itself quite well to becoming a maze so I’m not going to write it off just yet. There’s plenty of iconic moments that I’m eager to see come to life from the film so you know I’ll be giving it a go come September!

This is the second maze to be announced since the return of American Horror Story!

Until then, I’ll just be sitting here casually awaiting the next announcement. (Sinister Maze? Anyone? PLEASE?)

119 days people- LOOK ALIVE!

Here’s the trailer for the maze:
